Ministry. The dictionary simply says “the act of serving.”
It is associated with duties and services. Often, it is too closely connected with those who are “in the ministry.” In other words, unless you are a preacher or a deacon, you don’t have to be involved in ministry. Nothing could be further from the truth!
Christianity is not a religion. It is not a philosophy. It is a lifestyle based on a relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ.
Everything Jesus did communicated He cared about people. He ministered to others. The Bible reminds us that our attitudes should be the same as that of Christ Jesus. ( Philippians 2:5)
At Cornerstone Baptist Church, you can be…and should be…involved in ministry. Allow your eyes to drift to the right and take a close look at each of the colored tabs. Each one identifies a particular ministry in which you can be…or should be…involved in one way or another.
The Christian life is more than commitment to Christ. It involves a commitment to others as well. Pastor and author Rick Warren writes, “You can give without loving, but you cannot love without giving.”
Ministry. Simply the act of serving. And giving. And loving. Just like Jesus.
