“You created everything, and it is for your pleasure that they exist and were created.” [Rev 4:11] The Psalmist adds, “The Lord takes pleasure in his people.” [Psalm 149:4a] Worship is not for your benefit; it’s for God’s! When we worship, we bring pleasure to the Lord. Worship is not part of your life; it is your life.

The Bible says, “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men.” [ Col. 3:23] As one writer says, this is the secret to a lifestyle of worship—doing everything as if you were doing it for the Lord Jesus. Simply said, the secret of worship is surrender. It’s the heartbeat of your walk with God.

As you worship at Cornerstone Baptist Church, we pray you will offer yourself completely to God. He wants all of your life—every bit of it! William Booth, founder of the Salvation Army said, “The greatness of a man’s power is in the measure of his surrender.” The more you understand just how much God loves you, the easier surrender becomes.

Our Lord said, "But the time is coming and is already here when true worshippers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth. The Father is looking for anyone who will worship him that way.” [ John 4:23]
